Even Snails Can Be in a Hurry (6+)

PERFORMANCE
Three colleagues are doing their very best to welcome children into a brand-new indoor play paradise. They are eager—really eager—to open. The slide has been polished, there is live music to add a festive touch, and the trampoline has been officially inspected (safety first!). Everything seems ready. Or is it? Even Snails Can Be in a Hurry (6+) explores lives moving at different speeds—about trying endlessly or succeeding all at once. But it is also an exercise in patience. How do you remain calm and understanding when someone else just can’t seem to get going? And can you still manage that when you’re so excited that every second feels like a second too long?

SCENOGRAPHY
The scenography of Even Snails Can Be in a Hurry (6+) playfully mocks the phenomenon of the “indoor play paradise,” where children are constantly enticed by an overload of color, sound, materials, activities, and sweets. The set is an enlarged, postmodern hybrid of a fairground and an indoor playground, separated from the audience by a net and an entrance gate. This boundary defines the space as a place for play, while simultaneously keeping it just out of reach. It promises action, yet primarily creates delay: ladders are slightly misplaced, balls keep rolling away, and cleaning up mostly means moving the mess around. Play structures and objects are not only visually dominant, but actively shape the performance—they slow things down, interrupt actions, and amplify small failures. The result is an environment that feels familiar, yet subtly disorienting.
