DNA

PERFORMANCE
DNA is a performance by comedian Peter Pannekoek about what people inherit from one another — biologically, emotionally, and culturally. Humor and sharp jokes are interwoven with more existential passages, touching on themes such as responsibility, moral ambiguity, and empathy. The performance is also an ode to theatre itself: not only as a form of entertainment, but as a space for confrontation and connection — a plea for imagination as a moral force. The performance received the Poelifinario Engagement, awarded to the most outstanding cabaret programme of the season.

SCENOGRAPHY
The machinery of theatre is made visible — elements that are often taken for granted, but rarely truly seen. At the beginning, a transparent “mini-theatre” made of gauze descends: an initial frame in which wings, legs, borders, and technical installations reveal themselves. From that moment on, a single, slow transformation unfolds. The space gradually becomes more open and sparse, as if the spirit of theatre is slowly dissolving. Technology and imagination converge and then fade again. In this way, the performance moves toward a point of zero: a place where everything and nothing coexist — the essence of theatre, and ultimately of imagination itself.
