An unexpected meeting at an airport leads to an intense and passionate love affair. Soon the young woman and her great love begin to settle down. They buy a house, get married, have two children and juggle careers. The life they have built together is happy and comparable to that of many, but gradually the marriage crumbles and their lives take a disturbing turn – the man kills the children. Girls and Boys is a gripping one-woman show that starts as a hilarious fairy tale and ends in an unimaginable nightmare.

Memories are problematic for the woman. She would like to think back to her children, but the presence of her ex taints these thoughts. By rewriting her memories without him in them, she tries to regain control over her thoughts and her life. In the stage space we see the film playing out in her head in a series of abstract images. A faint spot of light transforms into a sharp line, a square surface appears only to fade again. Images emerge and disappear. The memories have been deconstructed into spots, lines, surfaces, sounds, colors. To then be rebuilt piece by piece into a beautiful memory, where the woman is happy without feeling guilty.
