It’d be a shame if you missed this

PERFORMANCE
It’d be a shame if you missed this is an absurdist, philosophical performance about the fear of missing out, for audiences aged 12 and up. What do you do when it feels like everything is constantly happening somewhere else without you? What if you can hear the dull bass, but have no idea where it’s coming from? When life feels like one big, pounding party — but you just can’t find the entrance. How long do you keep searching in that cold, deserted industrial area? And are all those ecstatic others really there, or are they just ghosts in your head? A performance about longing, exclusion, and group pressure.

SCENOGRAPHY
The dominant scenographic element is a large, enclosed box/cube with mirrored walls, referred to as the “party box.” On the one hand, this cube suggests the seductive pull of party culture (with flashing display texts and a muted bass line), and on the other, the inaccessibility and alienation of the “party” — the pleasure the performers themselves cannot reach. It shifts in the perception of the audience: at times appearing as a glowing object, at others as a sealed, claustrophobic enclave. The performers move around it, try to communicate, are drowned out by sound and visual stimuli, and must organize themselves in relation to it. The box attracts, yet excludes both the performers and parts of the audience, becoming a physical and visual expression of FOMO.
