performance
As a result of the destructive way in which mankind has taken control of this planet, we are living in times of mass extinction. Botanical Wasteland is a live performance with music and video-art all-in one, that launches a rousing appeal to radically change our relation with the world. It is a proposal for a new civilization in which the boundaries separating nature, technology, body and identity have been lifted and the ‘non-humans’ are empowered.
design
The cage-construction of The Immortals, a 2014 performance-installation, is reused.
All kinds of ingredients that we think can work together are put in: plastic plants, cables, screens, machines, balloons, printed circuit boards, lights. The rehearsal consists of the joint design and movement of this artificial garden. All things must come to life: stuff, people, masks, cameras, keyed content, sound, light, text. Everything must come together in a system that gives space and meaning to our post-humanity and to the flexible and multiple identities that result from it.
