Tjon Rockon, Anuk Nuyens, and Marjolijn van Heemstra construct a story about the life of Desi Bouterse. By sharing their thorough research and conversations with friends, enemies, and the people involved, they present the story of a relationship crisis between two countries that have been connected for centuries.
During the performance, a display is constructed of all the materials and objects that the three makers collected during their research. Cardboard boxes full of books, newspaper clippings, propaganda posters, sunglasses, and pornographic magazines are all unpacked to illustrate their argument and be shown to the public. But it is precisely because their research is so thorough that they are at risk of becoming entangled in their own jungle of information.
